Cyber crime, fraud, online scams and spam, were all discussed at ' Security for a Digital Britain', an exciting one day conference in Nottingham on 24 th September 2009 at Nottingham’s Albert Hall Conference Centre.
As the first event of its kind to be hosted in the East Midlands, the conference - delivered in partnership with Connected Nottingham, Nottingham City Council and Nottingham Trent University – highlighted the threats and dangers of the connected world, and provided practical information for how these threats can be safeguarded against.
Jane Todd, Chief Executive of Nottingham City Council opened the conference, followed by a range of speeches and presentations from leading experts from the IT security & forensics industry, local and national government and legal practices.
Organisers of the conference were overwhelmed by the demand for the conference and were fully subscribed in less than a week of the conference website going live. However, those who were unable to attend the conference in person were able to watch all the presentations online via live webstreaming, which was provided by the students at Nottingham’s Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies.
A video of the event is also available. Please click here to view the presentations online.
